The Benefits of Medically Supervised Diet Plans
If traditional diet plans have not worked for you, you may want to consider a plan that is physician supervised.  You may find a supervised diet plan more effective than a do-it-yourself one.  A good diet plan will give you healthy habits in order to help you feel and look better.  Consider using a plan that is based in science and nutrition.  An individualized program that is medically supervised will be able to meet your lifestyle and weight loss goals.

Often, diet plans fail because you don't feel satisfied and are hungry.  Hunger occurs when insulin levels and blood sugars fall.  The more dramatic the fall, the greater the hunger.  When you eat a big meal, your blood sugar goes through the roof and your body stores fat.  Your blood sugar then falls and you feel hungry again.  Because of this cycle, you are often hungry throughout the day and your body is rarely in fat burning mode.

If you eat several small meals per day, your body will burn fat much more often.  If your blood sugar stays balanced, you are also less likely to feel hungry. The Body Mass Index (BMI) is an important part of any diet plan, that is, to help you determine how far you are from a healthy weight and body type.  BMI is calculated using your weight and height.

The BMI provides an indicator and is used to screen for weight related medical problems.  Since BMI is a ratio based on weight and height, each body type has an individual BMI.  The average BMI falls between 19 and 24. Once you know your BMI you are able to gauge how much weight you should lose, and at what weight you are healthiest at. The basic premise of a diet plan is to consume fewer calories than your body burns.

This is what leads to weight loss.  For example, if you consume 1000 calories per day and the average person burns 2500 calories a day, your body will burn 1500 calories per day from stored fat in your body. Keeping your body burning more than you intake will cause you to lose weight until your body finds your plateau. A smart diet plan is one that focuses, not just on weight loss, but health and nutrition as well.  A great goal for a diet should be for you to look better and be healthier.  Each person is unique and has individual dieting needs.

A physical supervised diet plan helps you to find a plan that works for you.  You will also have access to daily support, which will greatly increase your chances of success.  Another benefit of a medically supervised diet plan is that there is a chance that you may have an undiagnosed medical condition that makes it difficult for you to lose weight.

A physician who is supervising your plan will be more likely to find a thyroid problem or insulin resistance that may actually slow down your metabolism. A plan that uses a mix of protein, fiber, and amino acids will help you to lose weigh because these things are naturally filling and will help you manage your hunger.  Look for a plan that offers natural foods.  Many diet foods are high in preservatives and sodium.  A plan that utilizes several small meals a day is a way to train yourself to change your eating habits.

Eating several small, sensible meals per day and a substantial evening meal, along with drinking plenty of water, will help you to reach your weight goals in a safe, healthy manner.  Results vary depending on each diet plan, but a healthy 2 lb/week rate will get you fit in no time. It is important to think of your diet plan as a lifestyle change rather than a temporary fix.  You will see results quickly and you will have more energy.  This, along with regular doctor supervision, will help to reinforce your positive eating habits.  Your doctor will also help you to keep informed of the newest nutritional and weight loss research.  A true success story is often found when a person implements a diet that incorporates several small meals a day with medical supervision.  This will help to keep your blood sugar and hunger under control.  You will be able to steadily and safely lose weight until you reach your goal.  Thinking of your medically supervised diet plan as a healthy and necessary lifestyle change will increase your chances of success.
