Are Lift Recliners Only For the Elderly?
While the elderly are clearly a focused market for purchasing lift recliners, are there others who may find them useful? Certainly there are many elderly in the market for furniture appliances which help facilitate their continued independent living. As folks age, a number of maladies, disease or simple accidents may require them to seek the aid of mechanical devices in order to perform simple acts such as sitting in a chair and rising from same.

Most often some variant of arthritic conditions will cause persons of advancing years to have less control and strength required for what seems to be the simple act of sitting down or standing up. Biometric studies have shown that the forces exerted on the spinal column are massive, with much pain and discomfort being generated in going from the seated to the standing position.

Generally there are 5 different forces acting on the spine: tension, compression, torsion, and bending which is a simultaneous combination of both tension and compression. Various medical conditions affect the mechanical parts associated with these forces. Some of the most painful ones deal with the deterioration of the fluids and padding materials that exist between the spinal bones, or vertebrae.

Combine the degenerative, negative effects with the extreme forces required to perform what seems to be a simple act of standing, and one can easily understand how elderly individuals require assistance that can be obtained from regular use of lift recliners.

Who else might benefit from lift recliner chairs?

In addition to the elderly, there are a number of other individuals that one may not have previously considered a target market for regular or periodic use of lift recliners. High on that list are pregnant women. We have all seen comical renditions of women trying to sit while far along in their pregnancy. Many common factors exist between these women and the previously described afflictions of the elderly.

The extra weight associated in the lower frontal portions of the female's body, does over time multiply the force applied to the lower spinal column. Again, the act of sitting down, now with the added resistance associated with the weight of pregnancy can cause much pain and discomfort.

The recliner here provides much needed support for the fatigued lower lumbar which in turn can help the woman up and down as the case requires.

Other potential users would include injury victims. Regardless of age, accidents happen. If an injury affected the area of a person's body that would inhibit their ability to sit or stand, clearly they would be looking for at least temporary relief that lift chair recliners might provide.

Be sure to consult the Internet. Search engines will reveal a number of results that can provide you with comparative analysis of make and model. Additionally, you are sure to find many articles written to help guide you through the discovery process necessary to obtain the best device for you. In addition, sizes are important as are the amount of floor space various chairs might require.

Remember, having more knowledge will greatly benefit you in your search for the right lift recliner.
